About Rhema Bible College
"Growing from strength to strength, to be changed in the image of Christ as a powerful voice of victory and change to the nations"
Rhema Bible College, founded in 1979, endeavours to help fulfil the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age".
The purpose of programme is to deliver learners who can critically apply focused analysis, knowledge and skills in the service and leadership (both lay and ordained) of Christian communities, community organisations and society. This interdisciplinary Qualification aims to produce life-long theological learners who are equipped to raise and debate current issues in African and international contexts. The Qualification also seeks to enable learners to develop, clarify and articulate a value system from a Christian perspective.
RBC intend to raise consciousness with respect to issues of justice such as gender, social disparity, disability and the environment, and to enable them to develop transformative communities, and to contribute to the development of the society as a whole.
Rhema Bible College is a place where you as a follower of Jesus are challenged to deepen and broaden your commitment to God. Rhema Bible College offers courses dealing with all facets of Ministry. We endeavour to teach students how to recognise the call of God and minister effectively in the office to which God has called them. It is a unique academic learning environment in a multi-cultural, multi- ethnic setting.
As a student you will study, pray, play, debate, laugh, cry and grow with us, your faith family, as we spur one another on to greater obedience to God. Come join us and see for yourself
Candidates for this Qualification whether they are working in Business communities or working in churches, para-church and community organisations will be equipped to integrate knowledge of the Christian faith with essential skills to minister to and lead Christian communities and to contribute to the development and transformation of the broader society, as well as develop the values of such leadership.
Learners who wish to gain an understanding of the Christian faith and to develop their own spirituality will also benefit from this Qualification. Some learners will continue after this first degree with post-graduate studies, which may be required for a professional Qualification by some faith communities.
Mode of Learning
Our programmes are now offered in mix mode guide with students selecting the method of study that best suit their individual needs, both financial and lifestyle. "Through online learning or face to face learning modes Rhema Bible College builds a solid foundation for Christian work and develop Christian ethical morality which fits within all structures of society.
Our aim is to develop Christian leaders from all walks of life that do not only change their world spiritually & morally, but to be truly relevant and to contribute to reach, help, develop & influence their own world positively on all levels: spiritually & morally, socially, physically, emotionally, intellectually, technologically, environmentally & economically.
We do this using a holistic approach which incorporates Spiritual, theological, practical and life skills enrichment in order to enable learners to make a difference in every walk of life (whether in ministry, family life, business, education, health care, entertainment, social work, health care, government or political environment). Our curriculum is designed with this mission, focuses and life skills in mind. Our mission is to the empowerment of former disadvantaged learners, children and woman.
Providing learners with practical experience through the Christian Service Programme is a vital part of our mission. It is not only designed to offer the learner practical experience within the church setting and opportunities to grow and develop skills which are limitless, but the programme specifically aims at providing opportunities for learners to serve at their local church or community. By doing this we become relevant not only to our own church community, but RBC also plays a role to reach and develop other communities. Students are required to serve in different departments each term to gain as much practical experience as possible.
The Word is clear in 2 Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." This mandate from God is to all mankind. Undoubtedly, the Kingdom of God has great need of much more labourers who would be diligent in "dividing the word of truth". We are certain that the Almighty is speaking to you. Your next step is to respond in obedience.
At the BIBLE COLLEGE, our purpose is to train people how to apply the principles of God's Word to their lives and ministries. We endeavour to teach Students how to recognize the call of God and minister effectively in the office to which God has called them. Classroom instruction is enriched by the ministerial experience of Resident Lecturers, Associate lecturers and Various Guest Speakers.
We believe the best education is by precept and example. RHEMA BIBLE COLLEGE is a place where Students can become aware of, and familiar with, the gifts and workings of the Holy Spirit, as well as obtaining sound biblical doctrines and theology. Through active participation in their local church and diligent attendance at the College, Students will see both the natural and the supernatural aspects of full-time ministry in operation.
RHEMA BIBLE COLLEGE emphasizes the love of God in demonstration, the anointing and presence of the Holy Spirit, a commitment to the integrity of God's Word, and the necessity for unity of vision and purpose. We feel that understanding and respecting one another as members of the Body of Christ is the key to unity, which is fundamental to fulfilling the plan of God. May we take our places and fulfil our part in this great plan of God. To date thousands of men and women from all over the world have gone from this Training facility to fulfil their ministries all over South Africa, the continent of Africa and worldwide.
